At Capital Cardiology , we take the health and well-being of our patients extremely seriously. Our cleaning & disinfecting protocols are and have always been a priority in providing a clean and safe facility.We utilize commercial-grade cleaning and disinfectant products, Our procedures include but are not limited to disinfecting every surface that any patient may come into contact with.
Hand sanitizers and masks are available. Masks are mandatory. We do ask patient to come with own masks if available. Increased daily cleaning routines have been added to all areas. We ask that all patients be mindful in washing their hands and using hand sanitizer.
Capital Cardiology as a tenant was assured by building management with the following:
The building cleaning contractors are disinfecting all of the common area portions of the building with emphasis given to touchpoints (elevator call/floor buttons, entrance doors, light switches, door handles to stairwells, stair railings etc.). These cleaning procedures will continue and we will implement changes if needed. Common area hand washing: In addition to the washbasins/soap in the rest rooms, alcohol-based hand sanitizers will be located in the main floor lobby of the building and next to elevators.

Nuclear Stress Myocardial Perfusion Imaging

Also called MPI, SPECT, Exercise myoview, Persantine myoview

Is a test that shows how well blood flows to the muscle of the heart (myocardium). To diagnose the presence or absence of coronary artery disease ( blockage of the arteries) . The patient can receive a summary of the instructions by secure email .

Stress Echocardiogram

Information

Echocardiography is a test that uses ultrasound to make a picture of your heart. Ultrasound uses sound waves, or echoes, to make the picture. This test is used to determine if you have enough blood flowing to your heart and how well your heart is pumping.

Pictures of your heart will be taken before and after you exercise.

The purposes of this test are to:

  • Diagnose if you have coronary artery disease or are at risk of getting coronary artery disease
  • Determine how likely it is that your condition will get worse
  • Determine if you have any other conditions related to your heart and blood flow

How to Prepare for Your Test

  • Do not eat or drink for three hours before the test
  • Do not drink or consume anything with caffeine in it (such as coffee) 24 hours before the test
  • Specific heart medicines (such as beta blockers) may need to be stopped 24-48 hours before the test. Check with your doctor about specific instructions regarding medications before the test. Do not stop taking medications without consulting your doctor
  • Wear comfortable clothing and shoes that are suitable for exercising on a treadmill or bike

What to Expect During the Test

  • During the test you will exercise by walking or running on a treadmill
  • The test will take approximately 1.5 hours
