Dr. Mohammed Nassoh Hafez , FRCPC, FACC, FCCP
Founder of Capital Cardiology
Graduated from the University of Ottawa Heart Institute after completing a three-year Cardiology Fellowship from 2009 to 2012. Dr. Hafez is Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons certified in Internal Medicine and in Cardiology.
He is also American Board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine , and Critical Care Medicine.
Dr. Hafez is certified in Cardiovascular Computed Tomography by Certification Board of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (CBCCT) and in Nuclear Cardiology by the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology (CBNC). He is also a Testamur in Echocardiography by the American Board Examination Special Competence in Adult Echocardiography.He is a Fellow of the Royal college of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and the American College of Chest Physicians.Dr. Hafez completed an Internal Medicine residency in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania , he then completed an Intensive Care Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh.
He began active practice as a Chief of Medicine and ICU in Carbonear, Newfoundland, and later as an Assistant Professor at Memorial University, in St. Johns. Dr. Hafez then moved to St. Catharines, ON where he launched a new ICU model in the St.Catharines General Hospital and worked as a full time Intensivist.
Dr. Hafez has privileges at the Montfort Hospital for Cardiology, Internal Medicine, and Critical Care. He is the Chief of Cardiology at Montfort Hospital. His major area of interest includes cardiac imaging, post myocardial infarction treatment, heart failure management, and medical education.
Dr. Hafez is fluent in English and Arabic. He is eager to enhance his French as part of his appointment to the Montfort Hospital.
Dr. Hany Rizk, MD, FRCPC
Dr. Hany Rizk attended University of Ottawa for his undergraduate degree in Health Sciences, as well as medical school, which he completed successfully in 2010. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the Ottawa Hospital in 2013, acting as Chief Resident in his final year. He went on to complete Cardiology training, with focus on nuclear imaging, at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, between 2013-2016. He subsequently completed one year of subspecialty training in Adult Echocardiography in 2017. He joined the Cardiology Division at the Montfort Hospital in July 2017, and is currently practicing at the Montfort Hospital and the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. He is the Director of the Echocardiography lab at Montfort Hospital .His areas of interest include valvular heart disease, secondary prevention following myocardial infarction and medical education.
